Have you ever thought to allow users to upload images in their blog comments? Wouldn’t it be great if people can attach an image along with their comments?
Suppose, someone wants to ask about a problem then a screenshot can be added.

You are aware of the number of plugins in the WordPress repository.
There are thousands of plugin which can accomplish every task in a WordPress blog. Let me show the plugin and the guide to use it.
Step 1:- Install and activate the “Comment Images Reloaded” plugin.
Step 2:- You have to adjust some settings. The number of images people can upload, the image types etc can be handled by this plugin.
You can even set the size of the image. There are many options from a small image to the mega large image.
You can set the maximum size of the image people can upload. It’s always good to mention such limitation.
It’s because all the images which people upload in the comment section get stored in your media library.
Step 3:- You can check the output of the plugin in the comment section. There would be an image uploader using which people can attach an image along with their comments.
You have successfully added the feature of adding an image.

Hey Ravi,
I might be the only one concerned but I don’t think I would like to offer my readers that option. I would (1) be afraid of spammy photos, and (2) would that image take up space on our servers? I would love to read what your other commenters say about this.

It might be the case. People are really good in spamming and you should always take the necessary steps to secure your blog. But still, it’s an another feature which can enhance the comments.

Ravi, Could you let us know the benefits of allowing the users to upload the photo with comments apart from the screenshot thing that you have mentioned. And what if the users or even bots(comment bots) take advantage of this and spam our website or try to attack our limited server space ?

Well, there is a slight vulnerability of getting spammed. But if know all the perks of WordPress and its plugins then you won’t worry about bots.
The first thing is that you moderate the comments manually and you will know whether the image is spam or real.
The second thing is that for comments, you can use the plugins like GASP or the inbuilt feature of CommentLuv.
Only humans can pass this.
